After a Break-In: Board-Up First, Glass Second

A smashed storefront is a security problem before it is a glass problem. Many glazing firms offer emergency board-up to secure the opening, then return to measure and install the replacement glass — storefront and door glass is often tempered or laminated safety glass that must be fabricated to size. When you call, ask about board-up availability, lead time on the replacement panel, and whether they work with your property insurer.
